1066 Housing Association is the main provider of social rented housing in Hastings & St Leonards. We own and manage around 4,000 homes in the town.

We joined the Amicus Group in 2002 (which became AmicusHorizon in 2006) and are now successfully delivering a comprehensive asset management strategy designed to create more sustainable communities.

In order to achieve our mission – shared across AmicusHorizon - of "Creating neighbourhoods where people want to live through the provision of excellent homes and services" we have set four strategic objectives

• To achieve excellent performance in all aspects of our business
• To create excellent neighbourhoods
• To employ excellent people

We are making progress towards these objectives in the challenging environment of working in the 38^th most-deprived district in the country, and the Audit Commission judged us in 2006 as providing a fair service with promising prospects for improvement.  We are especially proud of our involvement in a pioneering initiative, the first of its kind in the country, to combine the need for new employment with the need to enhance communities.  We have founded the Ore Valley Residents' Services Organisation (OVRSO) and continue to support it as it goes from strength to strength.  Find out more at their website (click on the right).
